8 ways you can make that family beach trip a memorable success

Venue

To make sure you have a successful day at the beach, do a little planning ahead and make sure you know what the beach you going to go to is like. Every beach is different and has a different clientele. If you’re taking your family with you, you don’t really want to show up to a nudist beach and be surprised, unless of course your family are nudists. You get our point.

Not all beach

If you are taking your family and you’re not looking for a totally secluded beach, sometimes it’s also a good idea to look at what is around the beach. Other activities there, other restaurants, what else is there to do. The beach is, of course, amazing, but it does not mean that all you’re locked into doing the beach only.

Plan b

Always have a plan B prepared in case of inclement weather, or any other unforeseen problems. If a storm suddenly comes up and it starts on the same day that you’re planning to go to the beach, you need a plan B. There’s nothing worse than sitting there and not knowing what to do. Everyone just becomes unhappy. Whatever area you are in, you can look for attractions on google and see if there’s anything else that interests you. Have a plan B prepared so that if something goes wrong you can switch up quickly and be the hero.

Preparation

There are other articles that will tell you the basics of what you need to bring to the beach, the idea here is to prepare everything you might need. Such things as sunscreen, towels, sunglasses, clothes are just a few of the starting basics. If you have children make sure you bring some toys to keep them occupied so you don’t have to you. The importance here is planning.

Water

Yes, we know there is an ocean full of it right there the beach but you need to bring your own bottled water too. It’s easy to get heat stroke or get overheated at the beach, and dehydration is a serious thing. So, make sure you bring bottled water with you and keep yourself hydrated and cool.

First aid kit

Bring a basic first aid kit with you that can include anything you might need at the beach from bandages to ointment. Getting a headache from the sun is a real thing so having some aspirin with you can change a nightmare day into one that is much better. If someone gets a scrape you don’t have to leave the beach to get it fixed, you can just take care of them there.

Leader of the band

That’s you. You are the leader of the band and it’s up to you to make sure everybody is happy and has fun. Of course, you need to have your own fun too, but if you keep everybody else happy that it’s much easier for you to be happy as well. So, make sure you have things to keep people entertained, have a plan B, know what’s in the area, and have everything planned out. It’s great to be spontaneous, but spontaneous with planning is even better if you want to be the leader. Also, being the leader doesn’t mean making everyone do what you say, it means guiding them to have a good time with the least pressure you can.

Same page

Make sure everybody knows what’s going to be happening. There is nothing worse than having one party pooper in the group that doesn’t want to be on the beach and ruin it for everybody else. You cannot force people to have fun. So, before you even go, make sure that everybody is on the same page for where you’re going and what you’re doing.

Having a good family vacation at the beach is just like having a good family vacation anywhere. It just takes a little bit of planning and a little bit of thought to make it all work. Just remember that it’s 80% for them and 20% for you.
